ip.block.dt.de DNS - internet is not working
2 years ago
Hello,
Since this morning my internet is not working , I tried to first reset the router , change cable, hard reset the router, try LAN and try WiFi - nothing works.
Then I tried:
- Online automated service , it says that everything is good
- Whatsapp service - nobody is useful
- Phone - I request English support - no one speaks it , I tried 5 times to call, 4 times the person hang up the phone after shouting in German
I dig myself and found that all my requests goes to ip.block.dt.de which seems like my service is blocked ? Which is even more weird because Telekom just charged for the next month.
PLEASE ! HELP !!!!!!

seams to be a problem with your DNS Server.
Try to use 8.8.8.8 as dns Server
Internet blocked due to open invoices?

To me it seems that your internet access is blocked, for whatever reason that may be. I'll highlight this thread to the support team, but before I can do that, you need to make sure that both your customer ID and your phone number are stored in your community profile.
This is needed so the support staff can check your account and call you back to discuss the issue in private.
Once you've done that, please leave a note here, I'll then call for the team.

OK, simply hanging up is not correct, of course. However, you also have to remember that we are here in Germany and german is the official language. German is also the main language at Deutsche Telekom. Not every hotline employee has to speak English. If I live in a foreign country for a longer period of time, I learn the language at least to the point where I can roughly communicate.
But I don't expect anyone abroad to understand my German either (except maybe in Switzerland or Austria.)
Back to your Internet problem. What is the result of ping as I suggested above?
Which router / modem do you use?

Now ping to 8.8.8.8 does not return anything (100% packet loss)
traceroute also hang on speedport.ip
these tests were done from both LAN and WiFi.
I have speedport smart 4 which serves me as the router and Modem.
the Web interface shows DSL connection is active , I have a public IP address assigned, and this is what I get from the system log (the time stamp is weird though)

after another hard reset the time stamp in the logs looks Ok, but still same issue - now no ping or traceroute at all
