Is it possible to receive written information about a fiber optic upgrade by email before making a decision?

A Telekom representative recently visited our building regarding a possible fiber optic upgrade.

I would like to ask if it is possible to receive all relevant information by email before making any decision, so I can properly review and understand the offer and contract conditions.

I would like to know:

  • whether my monthly price would change;

  • whether a new minimum contract period would begin;

  • whether additional fees or new hardware would be required;

  • and the total costs related to the fiber optic connection.

I would also like to clarify that I have not yet agreed to any contract or tariff change.

      I will gladly provide you the requested information. Since those require no further information I can answer question 2 and partially 3 right now.

       

      Your contract period would start new, and it is 24 months, and you will either need a fiber modem and a router that can support your desired internet speed, or you can choose a router that has an integrated fiber modem for example the Speedport 7 or the AVM Fritzbox 5590.

       

      For the other information I can offer you a short call. Just send us a time in which you are available.

      Thank you for the information.

      I would prefer to keep the communication in writing by email if possible, so I can carefully review all details before making any decision.

      Could you please also provide:

      • the exact monthly price for the fiber contract;
      • whether the price would remain stable after the promotional period;
      • any installation or activation costs;
      • and the costs of the required hardware options.

      At the moment I am satisfied with my current contract, so I would like to fully compare both options before agreeing to any change.
