Pause or Suspend Internet Connection for 4 months
2 years ago
Hello
I recently moved to another city within Germany and currently living in a short term rental which has its own internet connection. I want to pause my internet connection for a few months until I find my new rental apartment.
I found a post about pausing the mobile phone contract (Pause Mobile Phone Contract) but not about pausing the internet connection. Also, in that post, all the requirements are described but how to do it is not mentioned. Can anyone, kindly help me with figuring this out?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Atin

@atinjain I am not sure whether this is possible at all, as you want to have all line resources at least reserved during pausing
time. At least I have never seen such an offer.
But anyway you may complete your profile with contact details, so a Teamie is able to contact you directly.
Customer number, Mobile should be entered and last 6 digits of IBAN should be at hand for verification.

Hi @atinjain
https://www.telekom.de/hilfe/vertrag-rechnung/kuendigung/anschluss-voruebergehend-stilllegen-lassen?samChecked=true
It is not possible to cancel your landline contract.
If your landline tariff has a minimum contract term, we offer you a full or partial block. Your connection cannot then be used for incoming and/or outgoing calls during the period of time you require. However, the basic monthly price will still be charged.
If your connection does not have a minimum contract term, we offer you the following alternative: Cancel your connection on the date of your choice and at the same time re-register it on your desired date (at the latest within three months). In this case you can keep your phone number. The prerequisite is always that the new provision is (technically) possible for us. Please contact us with any questions or for further information.
Good to know: The new contract can only be set up with a current tariff and the usual deployment costs apply. You will receive a final bill for the canceled connection after the connection has been switched off. We will credit you any contributions that have been paid in excess.

Thank you @wolliballa and @→Mataimaki← for quick responses. I suspected as much.
In the meanwhile, how can I ask for full or the partial blocking of the connection, because I don't want to get penalised for someone using the connection in my name to do something inappropriate..

Sorry, @der_Lutz , I cannot find this Easy Login . Do I have to create this account separately with Telekom?
Does it not exist within the Telekom customer account?

it's a selectible field in your costumer account.
You can find it unter your contract

Good morning @atinjain,
thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to pause a contract or the payment in this way.
As soon as you move, your contract moves with you. Provided that it is available at the new address.
However, you must inform us of your move-out date and initiate a move.
Otherwise, your line will block another one.
Kind regards
Christina P.
