Satellite receiver internet connection

Hello, I have connected a speedport smart 3 router and 2 speedhome wifi repeaters in the house. Everything is working very good. The problem is, my satellite receiver internet connection. I connected the receiver to the internet using the speedhome wifi. There is a lan cable between speedhome wifi repeater and the receiver. When I press the "connect" button on the receiver remote control, it is not connecting everytime. If I try to connect 6-8 times, I can get connection maybe once. I tried three different receivers. All of them are doing the same. Sometimes there is connection, sometimes no connection. I tried different lan cables. No success. I am connection my laptop to the same lan cable to test the connection. It is connecting everytime with no problems. Then what is the difference between a laptop and a receiver internet connection? I tested the 3 receivers in my daughter's house. The receivers are all good. Can someone help me please?

      Thank you so much for the help. I did the hard reset on the router. I entered the Zugangsdaten again. Internet is up. But the problem is still there. I tried 7 times. No connection. On the 8th attempt it connected. I can not not believe that. Then I log out of receiver. I try to connect again. No success. I have to try several times until I get a connection. The firmware is 010137.4.0.001.2. It says the router is up-to-date. Thanks again. I will try to find a solution. Best regards.

      are there related messages in the router logs whenever connection fails or when it succeeds?

      Hello again, Actually my receiver shows that it is connected. The connection is there. The problem is, when I want to open the portal page, it shows a blank, black screen. I posted three photos. You can see them on the photos. The last photo ...2065 shows when everything is OK.

      Good evening @Lonelywolf63 and welcome to our community.

      I'm sorry for the late response.

      I must admit, that I don't know the named receiver. But in fact, that the connection is running constantly, there must be any fault in the network. Do you have the possibility to test another router, maybe from friends or family member?

      Yes, I tested the same setup with a fritzbox router 7490. Everything is working fine with that router. Speedport smart 3 is the only change I did. And it's brand new. All the other devices are working fine with the new router. The only problem is the satellite receiver internet connection. As I mentioned earlier, the receiver shows that it's connected. But when I want to open the movie portal page, it gives me a black screen. After several attempts it shows the portal page again. I changed lan cables, I changed HDMI cables. I have two other satellite receivers from the same company, giving me the same problem. I still could not fix the problem.

      Hi @Lonelywolf63 ,

      I do have a Speedport Smart 3 as well. I went through the different settings but did not find anything that I could recommend to change.

       

      The other differences to your daughter´s house are LAN, HDMI , and TVs. Do you think there is a chance you could try Speedport Smart 3 in your daghter´s house?

      Otherwise it could also be the settings of the TV or the resolution that is set in the receiver in combination with the TV. Those are the best speculations Imhave at the moment. I had to read again to realize that likely the receiver connects but does not show the image then. You changed the HDMI cables already so I would try to set the receiver to a low resolution, and then check again. Also before doing this I would unplug HDMI and power before testing.

         First of all thank you very much for your kind help. I couldn't test speedport smart 3 at my daughter's house. Because the connection she has is from Vodafone. So back in my house I turned off privacy settings of the router, it did not help. I hooked up another television still no help. I still do not know what the problem is. I think it will stay like that. At least until I find a good solution. I want to thank you all for your cooperation and help. Best wishes to you all...
