Severe Interval Packet Loss
For a month, I have been having a severe packet loss that comes in intervals on any connection. All applications are working fine except the ones that require needed constant connection, such as Online Games and Video Calls. Called the hotline and they cannot seem to see the problem from their side. I have also tried changing to a new router in suspect of the old one being broken. The experience is horrible. Another household internet contract (same building) I am using is working fine, except for mine. Is there anything I can do about this issue?

I am looking at the screenshots on a small smart phone screen, but if I’m not mistaken, there is close to no packet loss at all? The first picture shows 0% package loss for the final destination, the second one below 1%.
don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that your Internet connection is fine. But the screenshots, don’t provide evidence.

Hi @ChatCB ,
while @DMSE is correct about there being no actual packet loss on target, I wouldn't say all is well with the plots you've shown either. There seem to be bursts of delay occurring about every 30 seconds, where each time a group of pings is delayed by up to 1800 ms. This does not seem to be normal at all to me.
Unfortunately, your plots appear to start with the first hop behind the DSL line and thus do not include your local router as a hop. Can you rule out the link beween your host (the device you ran pingplotter on) an your router as the surce of the delay, e.g. by getting new plots that do include the router? If the delay bursts are not present between the device and the router, I'll highlight the thread to the support team so they can help with troubleshooting the DSL line.
Edit: I would be great if you could let us know a few things about your setup:

Hi @lejupp ,
I couldn't find a way to get the plot with the router; however, I can provide you with this plot where I ping the router directly. Everything seems fine to me.
For your questions:
I am using a Speedport Pro Router.
Running on my Laptop with a LAN cable connected directly to the router.
I have a 16mbps DSL connection (MagentaZuhause S mit MagentaTV Smart).

Hello @ChatCB, I first looked at the DSL connection and couldn't see any significant issues. There are some isolated code violations, but they are at a level that shouldn't lead to disruptions of this magnitude.
You mentioned that you swapped the router. Was it a one-to-one exchange or a different model?
Are you also having problems with Magenta TV, or are the streams running smoothly there?
The errors only occur sporadically, right? Would you have the opportunity to run a trace to the router for a longer period (for example, one hour) to check if there is already packet loss on the route in the private network?
Best regards, ^Daniel Wi.

Hi @Daniel-Wi
I have swapped to the same model, essentially a one-to-one exchange.
Streaming, on the other hand, appears to be minimally affected since it has load buffers.
The errors occur constantly when I use it. I am attaching the one-hour trace to all sources here

Hi @ChatCB, I have looked at your evaluations and the strong and thus problematic packet loss does not occur in our network or at the transition from our network to other networks.
We cannot do anything about that.
In the case of FFXIV, I would recommend opening a disturbance ticket with Square Enix, as the trace shows that the error occurs in their desired routing path within their network.
In the Google trace, the packet loss also occurs between 2 hops in the Google network (specifically in this case at AS15169).
I initially suspected that the packet loss was already occurring between the PC and the router, for example, due to a defective LAN cable. I have experienced this several times, but that part of the route can be clearly excluded.
Best regards ^Daniel Wi.

I've sent a message to the support team, indicating that what you observe does not appear normal to me, hopefully they'll get back to you soon.
