Cancel prepaid contract online and take number with me to another provider
vor 5 Jahren
I have a prepaid SIM from Tekekom and wish to cancel this contract and take the phone number to a new provider. I wish to do the cancellation online (or by email) instead of having to send a letter by post. Please assist me as I do not want to visit the postoffice for this during the lockdown.
Also, I don't have an active plan in my account. Now if I add money to my account online, will it auto activate a service? I do not want to activate any any service but just maintain 6.90 euros for the fee of number transfer how do I do this?
Thanks!

It looks to me like what you want is not possible.

I cancelled the contract to 4th of January 2021.
I am a bit concerned... I switch to German in order to more easily clarify with Karsten.
@Karsten L.

@muc80337_2 gave us good advice. I'll put your cancellation on 17th of January 2021 - never had problems with that before. So you are safe. Your new provider can get the number already since 17:50 o'clock.

I'm sorry for the late reply. I can do that for you. Please just fill this http://bit.ly/Teamkontakt form for me and also tell me the date where you want your Prepaid card cancelled. As soon as I get the form I'll prepare everything, so your new provider can 'take' the number.

Karsten L.

Hi dear,
at first i want to say thank you. Today may be you have called me and i talked with you. You describe me everything very nicely. You told me to keep sufficient money in my telekom sim card so that you can start number port. According our discussion i have recharged 15 euro in my telekom sim card but the problem is when i recharged, telekom activated a package automatically for me and deduct 10 euro from my sim card. And the package is valid untill 24.12.21
It was really unexpected. Later i had to recharge again 15 euro so that you can do the PORT. So my request is please do the porting for my sim card before telekom activate another automatic package in my sim card. I really don't want to recharge again. please help me to get out from this situation.
Thank you

@Carolin L. This is outdated information!
Porting of a phone number is actually meanwhile free of charge (until recently the costs were s.th. below 7 Euro).
Since December 1st the changed Telekommunikationsgesetz (telecommunication law) is in vigor, and according to that porting is free of charge.

Hello and good morning, @Hridoy .
Unfortunately I made a mistake.
Muc is right and porting doesn't cost any more - yeah.
You have already updated the address and I have set the optin.
Please port the number to your new provider.
If that happens, I will cancel the contract and you will get the 30 euros back into your bank account. OK?
Kind regards
Carolin L.
