Cancelling internet after a failed apartment move
vor einem Jahr
I was supposed to move apartment in October last year and started a 2 year internet contract at that time. However there was many problems and delays with the move and only now have I been told I will never be able to move in as the apartment is not habitable.
I now live in a WG which already has internet so I can't transfer the contract here. When I raised the cost of cancelling this contract with the landlord they said that when there's a failed move like this you cancel a contract early for free. Is this true? I didn't see any option for it on the customer portal.

That page says one of three documents is needed to cancel, but I don't have any. The landlord never gave a contract or registration cert.

If you moved, you should have this document: "Meldebescheinigung des Einwohnermeldeamtes"

Do you mean for the apartment I couldn't move into or for my current WG? I never got any documents from my landlord for the failed apartment move, not even a rental contract. But even if I did what impact will it have? Telekom internet was available at the failed apartment and my current one.

OK maybe i got it all wrong: You made a contract for an address, where you do not live and therefore never used it? is that correct?

Hey @Mark 1234,
thanks for reaching out to us.
I follow the question by @buenni and would like to add:
You do not have for the WG a registraction cert that can prove you moved there?
Best regards
Sarah D.

For the failed move I have no registration cert. For the WG I currently live in I do not currently have one but can probably get one.

Thank you for your message, @Mark 1234.
You only need a certificate for your current place of residence. For example, the registration certificate from the residents' registration office. Once we have that, you can also send in the form.
Kind regards
