Paying for previous apartment contract

Dear All,

Apologies for writing in English.  I moved to a new place and I wanted to move the Telekom contract to a new apartment.  During this process, I also asked/wrote emails to the advisor that I wanted to move the contract. (I still have those emails)

But a few days ago I discovered that my old contract is still active and paying for it. I called Telekom support. They asked me to send the 'Anmeldung' of the new place together with 'kündigung'.  Which I did.

I got an email saying the previous contract will run for another ~1.5 years along with the new one and it cannot be canceled earlier. In the previous address, I don't even know who is living. It is difficult for me to understand why Telekom is doing such a thing to its customers.  They say it is in the contract.

Does anyone have any advice for me on how to cancel the previous contract?

Thank you in advance.

      Hey @Chola,

thanks for reaching out to us.

I tried to get you by phone a few minutes ago but unfortunately without success.

You wrote that everything has been clarified already and the old contract has been cancelled earlier than previous mentioned? Is that right or is there anything I provide you?

      Best regards

Hi Sarah, yes I got an updated reply. Now the  contract cancelled dated Nov 2023 instead of sometime in 2025.

I haven’t received any call. But any case my contract was cancelled.  Thank you!
