New building - availability check says no connection but landlord says glass fiber is already installed
23 days ago
I am moving into a new building (first occupancy) which the building developer/landlord says already has a glass fiber connection. However the availability check on the Telekom website shows that there are no connections (both landline and glass fiber). How should I book a contract? The new address is in the "Further information" section of my profile. I can provide also the building developer's (company) information privately to Telekom staff. Thank you.

You can only book a contract with the network operator of the fiber conection. If there is no contract with Telekom you simply can not book a contract. Do you know the name of the company?

Thank you for the answer. I have just checked with the developer and the fiber connection was done by Telekom. They are not sure why I'm unable to book a contract but they will check with Telekom and get back to me.

@Wiebke S. @Timur K.
Hello, the issue has been resolved and I can now book a Telekom fiber optic contract. How can I best transfer my contract from my current address (with DSL) to the new address (with fiber optic)? Can I simply book the new tariff and then cancel the old one? I do not need the landline to be transferred and the old tariff is already past the contract period.

Hey there @fisch07,
I'd recommend starting a move order. If you like, I can assist you with that.
That way we can still change the contract for the new address. PLUS you won't have to pay for two contracts for one month.
If you'd cancel the former contract and book a new one, the old contract will run one more month before getting deactivated. So in such a case you'd pay double. 😕
Kind regards
Louisa
