Internet connection drops repeatedly

Sorry for speaking English, my German is not good.

 

My Telekom internet connection was set up this afternoon. All went well at first, but shortly after the Telekom Techniker left my house I started experiencing several internet outages throughout the afternoon and the evening. I counted more than 10 outages from 15h to 23h. Each outage only lasted for a few minutes (1-5 minutes I would say), but enough to disrupt my work.

 

I'm using a Speedport Smart 3 as a modem and router, and have a DSL connection of 50mbits download and 10mbits upload. The speed of the internet is fine, the problem is the connection that drops constantly. The Telekom Techniker told me during the appointment that the connection was fine, which was confirmed by one of the measurement devices he used to test the connection.

 

Is there a way to avoid such problems? I really need a stable connection. This has been a very bad first experience with Telekom.

    I'm sorry for the delayed answer. Could you already solve the problem?
    Is the Firmware of your Speedport up to date? Can you see the disconnects into your Router-Log? If not, does it happen via LAN and WiFi?

    Hello Karsten,

     

    For now the issue appears resolved. I didn't do anything special. My connection was installed on Friday, and showed connection problems that day. But Saturday and Sunday went fine, no connection problems at all. I will keep monitoring the connection and if the problem persist I will ask again for help.

     

    The connection is over WLAN.

    Hi @z0rk3n,

     

    thank you very much for your post.
    I looked at your connection and the line is stable. The dropouts are coming from the Wi-Fi.
    Do you have Apple devices on the Wi-Fi?
    Have you ever reset the router to factory settings?

    I also have had the same problem for this past 2 years, sometimes it is disconnected when I am important meeting, but it usually comeback after 3-5 minutes. I tried to press the reset button on the router but it seems this is not fixing anything. Could somebody help me with this?
